Memorial Day: A Salute!

We Salute Our Veterans This Memorial Day

We salute every soldier whoo’s
served this great nation.
And offer a heart of thanks
and appreciation!

We salute each memeber
of our armed forces.
And are thankful for their
efforts and resources!

We salute the many who
protect our boarders too.
We’d be in trouble…
If not for people like YOU!

We salute every son and
daughter lost in a war.
YOU are what serving this
country is meant for!

We salute the officers who’ve
guided our women and men.
Our prayers are with you!
And our love from within!

We salute our veterans!
Wherever they may be!Those who served on
land, air and sea!

Offering prayer to the
Lord is our belief…
That he will guide our
Commander-in-Chief!

As we observe Memorial Day this year…
Let’s offer our soldiers
love, hope and cheer!

May God bless them in
all they endeavor
And his peace be with them
today and forever!!

Meditation Monday – Changing Your Mindset

Changing the way you think has a great effect on how you approach anything in life. For example, this morning, you may have awaken with a sense of dread knowing that you had to go into work. You may deal with others that you do not necessarily care to be around or having to work for someone who may be inconsiderate. There are many reasons as to why you feel the way you do but I am here to tell you that it can change and you don’t have to continue to feel this way, in spite of your situation.

Prayer changes any situation, it changes you and the way that you think and approach obstacles in life. It will change your mindset. Prayer is a powerful tool in the hands of believers and when used consistently and efficiently, will see changes within themselves and their surroundings. Start off your day in prayer and see what can happen!

Tumblr Finds – Spiritual Inspiration

Something from my Tumblr dashboard….

Concerns and problems flood our minds. There is always so much to do! But, God wants the very best for you but you just have to know how to recognize it and lay hold of it.

If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I don’t even have time to think,” then you know how hard it is to concentrate when you’re being bombarded from all sides. It’s even harder to focus on God when we can’t take time to renew our minds and refresh our spirits by quiet reflection. God doesn’t often shout to get our attention. Instead, He usually speaks to us in “a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12, NKJV).

So what can we do to put ourselves in a position to hear God’s voice? We have to make time in our daily lives to get quiet. David said of the Lord in Psalm 23:2, “He leads me beside quiet waters.” Today I want to encourage you to find those quiet waters where you can get alone with the Lord. It may be a room in your house, outside under the trees, or some other place where you can shut out the noise and distractions of the world for just a few precious minutes. The key to renewing your mind, body and spirit is to develop the habit and discipline of meditating on the Word of God every day — even if it is for just a moment.

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Take Courage

When life seems to get you down and you don’t know what to do next, take courage. Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (KJV, my emphasis)

Knowing When To Let Go and Let God Handle It

There are days that I feel do overwhelmed with thoughts that it even wakes me up out of my sleep. This happened to me earlier this morning and it was so bad that it kept me from returning to sleep. I get like this when there is something that is truly bothering me….and it has never been pleasant. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep well last night. I am a bit upset at myself for allowing myself to get to a state where I don’t even have peace in my sleep. It is times like these where I just have to let go and let God handle it. There is nothing else that I can do since the situation is something that I cannot control (e.g.: the actions of others) and leave it in the hands of the one who can, God.

It’s not easy to do in some cases. I don’t know why I would rather carry my own crippling baggage then let the Lord help carry it for me. He is the one that can go into each case and find out what is making it so burdensome, fix it and make it lighter. For me that is part of the learning process and learning about the grace of God. When I think about his grace, I think about Paul. Paul was allowed to be tormented by a demon because he knew that he would become too proud and boast about his achievements instead of glorifying the Lord. Three times he prayed to have this demon be removed from him and “[e]ach time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT). The Lord knew how much this must have aggravated Paul to have a demon torment him whenever it felt like but because of the Lords’ grace, he can endure. The Lord was letting Paul know that no matter what the circumstance that the Lord will give him the strength to endure.

If Paul can endure a demon tormenting him and rely on the Lord to help him get through, then I can rely on the Lord to take care of the way I view and react to situations out of my control. So if you have ever come to an impasse in your life, don’t struggle with it, let it go and let God handle it. He will give us the grace to get through whatever situation we may find ourselves in.

I hope this little nugget helps you in whatever you may be facing.

God Bless!

Always Have to Give Thanks!

I feel so blessed, even in my situation. There is nothing but the grace of God! Things may not be what I would like them to be but we are managing. That is what I take comfort in. I try my best not to worry, even when the situation seems dire, but all I do is pray. Doesn’t matter where I am at, I just pray. Sometimes there is nothing to do but pray because there is NOTHING I can do. I am at a point in my life that I cannot make the decisions needed but I have faith that God will see me through. The way has been made already, I just have to have faith and walk the path. Hard to do but as it says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) and in Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I have to have faith. Bottom line.

Is it a struggle? Yes. Do I wish I was in better circumstances? Of course! But that doesn’t mean that I cannot learn from the situation that I am in and apply it to my life. I know I am purposely here for a reason and I seek to fulfill that reason by studying God’s word and understanding him in a way that is special between he and I. This is also the way that I build my faith in the Lord and not worry, as much, about what may lay ahead.

I want to encourage you that if you seem as though that there is no way out, know that our Father is there to guide us through and all we need is faith as small as a mustard seed. You will find that you are happier and have hope.

Keep me in your prayers and I will definitely keep you in mine. Have a wonderful and safe weekend. Remember, if you need someone to talk to, have a prayer request or praise report, I’m here.

God Bless!

The Problem of Being Too Strong

I had something else that I wanted to talk about today but after the conversation that I just had, it all changed. When we are going through difficulties in life, we sometimes put on armor to help us feel stronger. But as you know, the longer you carry something the heavier it gets. That is what is going on right now. On top of being sick myself (I just found out last night–outta curiosity I checked my temp and it was 101 deg.), these emotions are just racking me right now. But I have to take care of myself first before getting on with what needs to be done. I have to call my student loan servicer and deal with them and write an how-to article for a fellow crafter for her blog I will be a guest blogger on. (I didn’t forget 🙂 ). I just don’t have the energy to do either. Plus this fever has got me sweating bullets right now and it is relatively cool in here.

Y’all just pray for me that this feeling will pass quickly. I can’t afford to stay like this. My children need me to be “super mom” for their sakes. I’m going to pray.

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Kindness

This Monday I want to focus on kindness. “Killing them with kindness” really does work but the kicker is, you have to be genuinely kind. This verse was the catalyst for the rest of the verses that I will share with you today.

If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you.
– Proverbs 25:24-25 (NLT)

I hope these verses will serve as some spiritual help when dealing with those you work with and even in your families.

“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
– Luke 6:27-31 (NIV)

“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.”
– Luke 6:35 (NIV)

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
– Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
– Ephesians 4:32 (NLT)

“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
– Romans 12:9-13 (NLT)

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
– 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)

“A gentle answer deflects anger,
but harsh words make tempers flare.”
– Proverbs 15:1 (NLT)

For the rest of the week, I’ll be off the internet and will not be posting. I have some things to take care of that will take up a majority of my time (aside from my munchkins 😀 ) and I need to focus my energies on that. I wish you all a great week and weekend. I will see you all on Monday.
