Memorial Day: A Salute!

We Salute Our Veterans This Memorial Day

We salute every soldier whoo’s
served this great nation.
And offer a heart of thanks
and appreciation!

We salute each memeber
of our armed forces.
And are thankful for their
efforts and resources!

We salute the many who
protect our boarders too.
We’d be in trouble…
If not for people like YOU!

We salute every son and
daughter lost in a war.
YOU are what serving this
country is meant for!

We salute the officers who’ve
guided our women and men.
Our prayers are with you!
And our love from within!

We salute our veterans!
Wherever they may be!Those who served on
land, air and sea!

Offering prayer to the
Lord is our belief…
That he will guide our
Commander-in-Chief!

As we observe Memorial Day this year…
Let’s offer our soldiers
love, hope and cheer!

May God bless them in
all they endeavor
And his peace be with them
today and forever!!

Meditation Monday – Standing on His Promises

We forget how great our God is, especially when going through a difficult situation. We as Christians need to remember the promises written in the Bible that have been given to us. God is not a man that He should lie nor does He give promises that He doesn’t keep. He promised Abraham descendents as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the beach. Even though he never lived to see them all, the promise was fulfilled. I want to share with you 10 verses that speak on His promises to us and I pray that it will be an encouragement to you.

  1. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2Peter 1:4 KJV)
  2. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)
  3. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29 KJV)
  4. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV)
  5. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 KJV)
  6. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39 KJV)
  7. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. (Proverbs 1:33 KJV)
  8. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 KJV)
  9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9 KJV)
  10. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

I hope that you can stand on His promises today and continue to trust in Him. Without Christ, we accomplish far less that we could ever hope for. With Him, our possibilities are BOUNDLESS! We just need to have faith and do His will for His glory.

God Bless!

Some of My Favorite Songs

Like almost everyone else in the world, when we are going through something one of the ways that we get through is by listening to music. That is very much so with Christians as well. Today, I am going to share with you some of my favorite songs I listen to for worship, praise or just when I want to feel even more upbeat and dance like David danced when bringing home the Ark of the Covenant. Music to me is very helpful in times when I don’t feel like worshiping, you know – when you are in the middle of the trail and you have done all that you can do and you are waiting on the Lord to make the way possible? Yes, those are the times we need to worship the most and those are the times we hesitate to do so. Music is that vehicle to refocus on Him who is greater and remind me that He will never leave me nor forsake me.

There is no order for this list but I hope these songs will bless you as they have blessed me over the years. Enjoy.

  1. I Bless Your Name – The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
  2. I ‘m Not afraid – Fred Hammond
  3. Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) – Hillsong UNITED
  4. Our God – Chris Tomlin
  5. Take My Hand – Fred Hammond
  6. Come to the River – Rhett Walker Band
  7. Worthy is the Lamb – The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
  8. Silver and Gold – Kirk Franklin
  9. When Mercy Found Me – Rhett Walker Band
  10. They They Wait – Fred Hammond
  11. My Life is in Your Hands – The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
  12. Why We Sing – Kirk Franklin
  13. That’s Why I Praise You/For Every Mountain – The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
  14. When the Spirit of the Lord – Fred Hammond & RFC Choir

This is just a short list of the many songs that I listen to. I wanted to share them with you so that you may find that song that resonates with the Holy Spirit and send you into some awesome worship and praise.

I pray you all have a fabulous weekend, stay safe and see you again on Monday.

God Bless!

It’s Raining Outside….You Know What That Means!

If you don’t know already, I love the rain. I love the cleansing effect that it has and the way the earth smells. Everything is CLEAN. I would have the windows open and let the breeze in but as old as this house is, it would trap the moisture and create problems later. But for now, I will have the door open and admire the scenery and how quiet everything looks. It is a great time for meditation as well. Reflecting on the things the Lord has brought me through over the years and how he has blessed me and continues to bless me. I think about His goodness and mercy and grace and even the lessons that I have learned through his discipline. On days like these, especially when it rains (or snows) that I take a moment to reflect on these verses from one of the best sermons that I have ever heard. I say this because that every time that I come across this particular passage in the bible, there is always conviction. Where there is conviction, there is room to grow. Matthew 6:26-34 (KJV)

25. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27. Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28. And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32. (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Every time it rains, it reminds me that the Lord, our Father will take care of His creation and I know that we are held in higher regard than the animals and plants he takes care of. This is my rainbow, my promise, our promise that the Lord loves us and takes care of us.

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Changing Your Mindset

Changing the way you think has a great effect on how you approach anything in life. For example, this morning, you may have awaken with a sense of dread knowing that you had to go into work. You may deal with others that you do not necessarily care to be around or having to work for someone who may be inconsiderate. There are many reasons as to why you feel the way you do but I am here to tell you that it can change and you don’t have to continue to feel this way, in spite of your situation.

Prayer changes any situation, it changes you and the way that you think and approach obstacles in life. It will change your mindset. Prayer is a powerful tool in the hands of believers and when used consistently and efficiently, will see changes within themselves and their surroundings. Start off your day in prayer and see what can happen!

Tumblr Finds – Spiritual Inspiration

Something from my Tumblr dashboard….

Concerns and problems flood our minds. There is always so much to do! But, God wants the very best for you but you just have to know how to recognize it and lay hold of it.

If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I don’t even have time to think,” then you know how hard it is to concentrate when you’re being bombarded from all sides. It’s even harder to focus on God when we can’t take time to renew our minds and refresh our spirits by quiet reflection. God doesn’t often shout to get our attention. Instead, He usually speaks to us in “a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12, NKJV).

So what can we do to put ourselves in a position to hear God’s voice? We have to make time in our daily lives to get quiet. David said of the Lord in Psalm 23:2, “He leads me beside quiet waters.” Today I want to encourage you to find those quiet waters where you can get alone with the Lord. It may be a room in your house, outside under the trees, or some other place where you can shut out the noise and distractions of the world for just a few precious minutes. The key to renewing your mind, body and spirit is to develop the habit and discipline of meditating on the Word of God every day — even if it is for just a moment.

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Take Courage

When life seems to get you down and you don’t know what to do next, take courage. Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (KJV, my emphasis)

Happy Friday!

Something from my Tumblr dashboard…

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

There are times in life that we all get tired: tired of trying to make a business grow, tired of dealing with a sickness, tired of raising a difficult child, tired of living lonely, waiting to meet the right person. We can even be doing what we love, living in the house of our dreams, raising great children, or working at a good job, but if we’re not careful, we can lose our passion and allow weariness to set in.The problem is if you allow yourself to become weary, you’ll be tempted to quit: to quit growing, quit standing for that wayward child, quit believing to get healthy and whole, or quit pursuing your goals and dreams.

That’s why you have to wait upon the Lord and hope in Him. Don’t give up when victory is right around the corner. God promises He will renew your strength. As you thank God for fighting your battles, you will be able to run and not get weary, you’ll walk and not faint. You’re not going to drag through life defeated, depressed, and under the circumstances. You’re going to soar through life on wings like eagles, overcoming every obstacle, defeating every enemy and accomplishing every God-given dream.

God Bless!
