Meditation Monday – Standing on His Promises

We forget how great our God is, especially when going through a difficult situation. We as Christians need to remember the promises written in the Bible that have been given to us. God is not a man that He should lie nor does He give promises that He doesn’t keep. He promised Abraham descendents as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the beach. Even though he never lived to see them all, the promise was fulfilled. I want to share with you 10 verses that speak on His promises to us and I pray that it will be an encouragement to you.

  1. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2Peter 1:4 KJV)
  2. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)
  3. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29 KJV)
  4. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV)
  5. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 KJV)
  6. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39 KJV)
  7. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. (Proverbs 1:33 KJV)
  8. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 KJV)
  9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9 KJV)
  10. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

I hope that you can stand on His promises today and continue to trust in Him. Without Christ, we accomplish far less that we could ever hope for. With Him, our possibilities are BOUNDLESS! We just need to have faith and do His will for His glory.

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Changing Your Mindset

Changing the way you think has a great effect on how you approach anything in life. For example, this morning, you may have awaken with a sense of dread knowing that you had to go into work. You may deal with others that you do not necessarily care to be around or having to work for someone who may be inconsiderate. There are many reasons as to why you feel the way you do but I am here to tell you that it can change and you don’t have to continue to feel this way, in spite of your situation.

Prayer changes any situation, it changes you and the way that you think and approach obstacles in life. It will change your mindset. Prayer is a powerful tool in the hands of believers and when used consistently and efficiently, will see changes within themselves and their surroundings. Start off your day in prayer and see what can happen!

Meditation Monday – Take Courage

When life seems to get you down and you don’t know what to do next, take courage. Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (KJV, my emphasis)

Meditation Monday – A Prayer of Thanks

Good morning!

I pray all is well and that you had a lovely weekend. This morning, I wanted to reflect and say thanks to the Lord for all that He has done for us. Our lives are not the easiest and it can get discouraging at times. When we learn to say ‘Thank You’, even in out darkest hour, we can then find comfort in the Lord’s presence and find hope to make it through. Let this be a reminder to how great our Lord is.

Meditation Monday – Give Thanks

Sometimes because of frustration at home or at work, we can lose sight of what is important to us. All it takes at times is to tell the Lord thank you for what He has done for us. Being grateful even in the bad times can help us get through. This song – Give Thanks by Don Moen is a great song to sing to get your heart in the right place for meditation and worship.

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Faith

To go where you have not gone…you must do what you have not done. -Marvin Sapp

Sometimes we go about life approaching situations the same way each time, no deviation from the plan….going by the numbers. We then wonder why we have not accomplished anything greater than the “norm”. In order to get away from the “norm” we need to step out of our comfort zone and do what we have not done before. There is a fear of the unknown which prevents us from stepping out and it is that same fear that hinders any type of forward progression. Don’t let fear get in the way of where you need to be. Have faith and take that step to do what you have not done before to lead you where you have never been.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

– 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

What changes can you make today outside of your “norm” that can lead you to places you have never been?

God Bless!

Meditation Monday – Giving Thanks

Monday, for most, is a day they feel they can do without. Going to a job that they cannot stand or being around coworkers telling tall tales of their weekend adventures. Some could just be having a bad day. Children could have been causing trouble, financial issues, spouse issues, etc. I want to let you know that Monday or any day, for that matter, doesn’t have to be the worst day of the week.

Give thanks instead for what you have. Give thanks for the job you have because there are some who search and cannot get one. Give thanks for your family, no matter how dysfunctional it may be. There is someone out there without a family. Be thankful for your income, because there is someone out there without. Be thankful that you woke up this morning because there are some who passed away in the night. Be thankful for the small things, hearing your children laugh or your spouse trying to repair the pipe that busted and is not getting anywhere with it. Be thankful for the meal that was cooked even though it didn’t taste that great.

Remember the good times. That diaper accident that went from simple routine to a national disaster. That water balloon fight inside the house that soaked the carpet and furniture. Be thankful for that broken fax machine that you want to take out back and smash with a baseball bat. The list can go on forever but if you train yourself to think on the good in every situation, you will become a happier and stronger person.

In my life, I have to constantly give thanks. I give thanks for the food we have, the roof over our head, hearing my children laugh while they play and for the people who care enough about our well-being that they are willing to help us out. I’ve been blessed with some new furniture and clothes and shoes for my daughter. You have no idea how much of a blessing that is when you cannot afford to do anything. I thank the Lord every day because of it. He knows my needs and he stirred the heart of those few people to help me out. None of this was expected at all and came to a surprise to me. I am so grateful to them, especially to my Lord because he truly protects and cares for his own.

Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. (1 Chronicles 16:8 KJV)

Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. (Psalms 75:1 KJV)

Give thanks in all things. I thank God for the grace and favor upon my life. I thank God for his mercy. I thank God that he loves me so much that he sent is own son to die for me. I thank God for this world he created for me. I thank God for this complex system called a body. I thank God that I am a woman and I thank God that I have had the privilege to bring lives into this world. I even thank God for my estranged husband. I pray for his return daily but I also know what the Lord has promised me.

Be thankful in all things, always.

God Bless!
