Today I want to share one of my favorite recipes that my husband makes. It’s a bread bowl. It is real simple to make and soooo good! I will post a recipe for soup tomorrow that will go great with this. Here’s what you need:
- A loaf of Neo-Tuscan bread (or any large round bread will do)
- 2 cans of a thick and hearty soup of choice
- Parmesan cheese
- Parsley flakes (or fresh)
- Sharp knife
First preheat the oven to 375°. Pour the soup in a pot to heat it up. While the soup is heating up, take the bread and slice the top off the bread. This will serve as the cap once it is done. Using your fingers, hollow out the bread. Save the insides and place in a baggy for later. (You can make your own bread crumbs while the bread bowl is in the oven, as well. Just crumble with your fingers, place on a sheet pan and put in the oven until golden.) Fill the now hollow bowl with the soup and cap it.
Rub the outside with butter and sprinkle with parsley and Parmesan cheese. Place in the oven for about 15 – 20 min or until desired crispiness is reached. Cut with a knife and serve.
